Political parties are desperate to know what your religion and political views are.
If you vote in the UK, these judgements are made about you and applied to records the parties keep.
They use this to decide whether to ask you for money, what messages to send you, or whether to send you messages at all, through targeting, like when Zack Goldsmith targeted London’s Hindus in the last London mayoral election.
Religious beliefs and political views are granted higher standards of protection in data protection law. Political parties should only access this information in specific circumstances.

The likelihood that you are a ‘pragmatic liberal’, an internal category used by the Lib Dems to describe some of their voters.
